My 97 GTP has the Low Coolant Light on all the time. I flushed and filled it to the factory specs. Still no help. Ever so often it will go off for like a couple mins then it is right back on. Is it the sensor or what? Thanks for the help.

My money's on a faulty sensor. The coolant sensors are prone to failure.

My 98 had a Coolant light on at random, replaced sensor and it still did it sometimes. never low never ran hot never leaked or nothing. i eventually ignored it and made sure to check it like you normal should and make sure its all there.

Okay, I know this is an OLD thread, but figured better to add to this one than to start another... I am having the "low coolant light" problem, just started yesterday and after thoroughly checking system and confirming that no, I don't have low coolant. How difficult/expensive is the sensor replacement? And where abouts in the coolant system is the sensor placed?

Wow I'm not kidding.. I had the same problem before my water pump failed and was told it was a sensor problem. I made sure the coolant was full and it always showed full in the radiator as well as as the overflow tank. Guess what.. it hasn't done it again since I had the cooling system properly flushed. There's probably air pockets in the cooling system (or might be caused by sludge build-up on the sensor itself) from Dexcool related problems. Feel free to read this thread about a recent coolant flush.
