I've noticed a few peeps here that have done this upgrade to their sound system...I'm guessing this is pretty much a direct bolt-in swap?...I've never had my door panels off yet...are the fronts 5.25 or 6.50?...and if they are 5.25s, did anyone upgrade to 6.50s?...and was it an easy swap?(I'm not into cutting and hacking speaker holes anymore)

Someone mentioned that you can just take off the speaker grills in the doors to get to those speakers. Much easier than removing the door panel. The rear deck speakers can be a PITA to get to. You have to remove the entire back seat.

You probably can remove just the speaker grill, but it would make it so much harder because of how it's attached to the panel. You'd probably break a few of the prongs keeping it it. Taking off the door panel is no big deal, but keep in mind that you may break some of the clips, so it'd be good to buy some more from the stealership. They're no big deal to put back on.

The front is 5.25", yep. Or 5 1/4", whichever you prefer. They're pretty much: take off door panel, wire, bolt in, put panel back on, and enjoy! The grills that will come with the Xplod don't fit where the stock one is, though you could probably make it work through extra effort.

The great thing about Xplods is there's so many effing kinds to choose from. laugh Try the eBay store Audiosavings; they're a professional seller, and they have great prices.

T-Bat,

you can put 6.5" in the front but you will have to alter things a bit in order for them to fit. I say it'll be worth it.

I couldn't get to mine through the kick panels. I had to remove the whole door panel. Just make sure you take out the two hex screws in the middle before you start ripping and tearing. I found out the hard way and came out with bloody knuckles.

instructions on how to get to both the frant AND rear speakers relatively easily... (by the way, when prying out the power window deals, pry it from the side closest to you, otherwise you'll break an important clip and need to buy a new bezel like I did)
