Welcom,
3" down pipe
U-bend delete
I prefer 40 Series Flowmasters with a set of Hooker big bore resonated tips, some prefer 50 series.

Keep in mind you have a V6, you can get close, but you're not going to get that V8 muscle car rumble.

Welcome Lino,

You and I are in the same situation. We both have a '00 GT. This is what I am going to do on Saturday:

PEMS
3" DP
High flo cat
Flowmaster Super 40's
Hooker big bore resonated tips (thanks to Austin)

The pipe diameter will be 2.5"

I hope this helps.

The main thing that will give you noticeably more power than stock would be the u-bend delete. That's the bent pipe between the catalytic converter and the resonator.

There is a seller on eBay named Performance Peddler that has great deals on 40 and 50 series Flowmaster mufflers. A pair of Delta Flow 40s will run you about ninety dollars total, and he'll discount shipping since you're buying two. The Delta Flow series cuts down on interior drone while still keeping a nice deep sound outside. That way, you can opt for non-resonated tips if you're also considering exhaust tips at this time.

However, if you go for the Original 40 series, I definitely recommend getting resonated ones, since the drone will be a bit worse.

Other things you could consider are removing the resonator, dealing with the odd T-split in the pipe before the mufflers, et cetera. I don't know much about downpipes yet, but all things considered, it looks to be a good modification to do if you can spare all this cash. laugh

Good luck.

The Jimmy C 3" DP already had the U-bend deleted. devilgrin

I flipped the front sway bar last Saturday when I was installing the GMPP Handling Kit and KYB's. devilsmile

I like my dynomax exhaust w/u-bend removed. Gives the car a nice low rumble when cruising between 1500 to 2500 RPMS.

Invert the sway bar so that the 3" DP will not hit the DP and/or cause false KR.

I think he means you flip it so the DP doesn't hit the swaybar and cause false KR.

Canadian GTP ran into this problem a short time ago.

Flip it left to right, not front to back.
If you install a 3" D/P, it will hit the sway bar and cause a vibration.

I am just starting to look for an exhaust. Can anyone tell me where I can look for an exhaust for a man on a budget of say $450 to $500?
