OK, so in December of 2004 my passenger side half shaft is thumping whenever I turn, I go to replace it and see that the engine mount looks like it's been chewed on by a rotweiller. Now, I can feel my other half shaft doing the same thing. It's a 97 GT with 124500 miles on it, why the hell am I having so many maintenance issues with it now?

Worn motor mount/tranny mounts will cause all kinds of issues. Get all those replaced and the other parts will last longer. Now when you say half shaft are you talking about the C/V joint? Cause a bad half shaft is a broken shaft. And C/V joints wear out as well. Remember you have 124,500 miles on that car parts do wear out and need to be replaced. What kind of noise are you talking about i'd point my nose more at the struts cause I'm willing to bet that you still have the OE struts in there along with all the OE bushings and cups.

is it more of a clunk sound or like something is banging? is it more pronounced on sharp turns or does it matter?

like something's banging, it doesn't matter what kind of turn it is. it's pretty much just like what happened in dec., and at that time it was a half shaft
