i have a 97 grand prix and i bought new 6 x 9s for the rear but i can't figure out how to remove the stock ones. does anyone know how?

Remove the back seats. Someone posted a diagram on here before...

Yep you have to remove the rear seat and then remove the back dash to remove the speakers. Be warned not all 6x9s will fit in the stock mounts. Check Crutchfields to see what is compatable for mounting.
