My uncle and i were talking and we were thinking of running an intake like this. it whould provide alot of fresh clean air away from any heat source.DO you think it whould work?

P.S. thats the closest thing to a photocrop you guys are gonna get outta me. wink

The only thing is there isn't much room to run a big enough tube to get down there. With out it hanging below the lower A-arms (suseptable to damage from road debris)

That's why some people go with the FWI(fender well intake)

You could always do a hybrid FWI/CAI by running some piping inside the fender well and connecting that to a CAI box. This way if you do happen through an over abundance of water you won't suck any up because you'll get the air from behind the headlight.

I see what you guys are going for, but it wouldn't be a major improvement over a quality enclosed CAI. Especially considering that the duct-work would likely have to contain at least two bends in it - you want as straight an intake as possible.

Now I do think your idea is very useful as a CAI supplement - have some ducting going from the fenderwell or front air dam into your CAI box to help bring in cool air
