So I get my new spoiler back from paint tomorrow. The install should not be to tough. My question to those who have taken the plunge and alreay done this is, are there any pearls of wisdom you can share with me? im nervous about 2 things scratching the new paint and having to figure out how to drill new holes in the trunk....

make sure the paint over exposed metal after they drill. I had rust on my trunk on my 89' t-bird from the rear spoiler. i didn't know there was a problem until someone stole the spoiler and I had 4 rusty holes.

The SLP spoiler actually mates up really well with the factory hole so you should not need any drilling, possibly some enlarging of holes in one direction or another. To avoid scratching the trunk during install just use a buddy.

just wondering, but is it a good idea to do the washer trick to raise it up off the trunk, or does it drain good? just something that came to my mind reading this.

I was curious about the same thing. I recall someone who did that and he kept getting a steady stream of crap washing down after rain. To the point where it stained the clear coat.

I am in total agreement, I read this thread before the other one so my last post seems kinda uninformed. I can't wait to see what they look like on my car.
