what is CPS short for... i need a new one... thanks to you guys i know exactly whats wrong with my car... thats what i love about this place... thanks guys

CPS stands for Crankshaft Position Sensor, and can also refer to Camshaft Position Sensor, depending on the code(s) you have.

usallt goes bad on the 3800's... about 200 if you have someone elseinstall it it is only a 50 dollar sencor but hard to get to so there is a lot of labor

I paid $30 for the sensor and paid a local shop $80 in labor to replace it.

what the heck! where was this amazing write up when I needed my cps to be replaced! I spent like 250 on it, it was a combo of labor but I still could have saved alot of money. Oh well lol.
