Any codes?
If your SES light is on get it scanned.

If you've never performed a tune up, that's where I would start.
Plugs, Wires, Filters.
While your at it inspect all your vacuum lines.

how is your air flow? something blocking the passage? Did you sputter when you did a burn-out? If not then maybe its your exhaust sensors that are not registering properly?...

I'd say maybe 02 sensor, or multiple misfires?

Does the SES blink, or is it steady when it comes on tehn shut off. Also does it start at WOT. If its blinking when your at WOT you are getting misfires and I would check you plugs wires, plugs coil packs. Do you have any mods to the car?

Welcome to the forum.

Edit: Burnouts = bang, bang = big money.

The SES is always steady...and it sputtered alitte during the burnout. Not sure what peanuts in the airbox means? But i did put 92 gas in last night and seemed to get a little better about not stuttering when i put it to the floor. I dunno though, Thanks for all the ideas.

No real mods yet, i did put a black pinstripe on it(red coupe)and it has tinted windows i like think it looks sharp. Hoping to get some black rims? not sure how it'll look tho... I also wanna get a aftermarket PCM and smaller pulley for starts. Maybe an exhaust i dunno yet.

What octane gas do you normaly use?

I ask cause you must always use the highest you can get with the GTPs.

You'll need to get the car scanned to see exactly what the codes are. Autozone does it for free.

I think the gas in my hometown is 89...highest...and we only have one gas station. I try to stay away from it but its hard when the next towns are 10-20 miles away. I'll get the SES checked next time it comes on.

By the way, i was looking under my hood this morning noticed a plug? do grand prix's have block heaters or something? dunno what else it could be?

Block heaters were an option.

89 octane is not high enough you need to run a minimum of 91.

Beware of fuel additives for octane boost. If the product claims an increase of 3 points of octane that actually means if you take your 89 and add that product then your new octane is 89.3
