What would it take to install a 06 gp trans in my 99 gt? I found one locally with 6K for $250. all inputs appreciated.

I think the big issue is the change from external neutral safety switch to an internal one. I'm pretty sure you can use it somehow, since '03s had the internal switch as well.

i cant remember where i read it but i think you can run a 04 and up tranny if you use an 03 pcm, but im not sure thats why i wanted to post here and get some feedback. Rook i was thinking about that too i might just have to run a 03 pcm to control the trans.

Head over to grandprix.net and post in the trans section and wait for trannyman to reply. He'll know and give you sound advice.

oops, yeppers. ![laugh laugh](/forum/images/graemlins/default/laugh.gif) Well, at least I didn't send him to a bad place. The reason I want you to ask trannyman is because I don't think you need to swap PCMs. It might be something with less headaches (newer PCM + older car = bad juju).

well i got my answer from trannyman, heres what he said.
"You will need to replace the valve body with all solenoids, seperator plate, oil pump, internal wiring harness, internal linkage, cooler lines to radiator with 00-03 lines that have a quick connect end. You also need to make sure it has the correct gear ratio. It is a bit of work to do and generally not worth the money by the time you converter good parts over to the newer trans because after you have done all the work you still only have a stock trans with low miles."
