well i went out and unplugged it, my car ran like crap, so i went out and went heavy throttle, it sputtered, but then it was funny i was turning into my nneighborhood then my car died lol but then i plugged it back then it ran fine. So i went heavy throttle once more, it did the same sputter under heavy throttle.

So does any one think its the o2 sensor with me ?? id rather not pay 100$ to get a diagnostic at first. i could spend 50 $ on an o2 sensor tho and either way it would be new anyway.

Let me hear those opinions. Thanks smile

lol, keep throwing parts at it... Or, get it diagnosed and fix what the real problem is.

To tell if it is the MAF then just unplug the MAF sensor. It is the plug on the very top of the throttle body.

If you still have the problem after that then it is not the MAF.

I'm not sure I agree with that, r.s. Mine will not run w/ the MAF unplugged, it does NOT like the VE table. Not sure why, maybe I have a problem. smile

hmm, that's weird. I've always thought that was the general consensus on how to determine if the MAF needs to be replaced. Maybe I am wrong, it would not be the first time :p

It's probably the MAF, you can try cleaning it. Autozone has cleaner for $5 or so. However, that may or may not fix it even if it is the MAF failing. Cheapest option would be to get it diagnosed IMO, otherwise you're just guessing. Could also be plugs, fueling, PCM, etc etc...

Usually if it's running rough and you unplug the MAF and it improves slightly not saying cure it chances are it's the MAF. If no change or worse then it's something else.

The MAF trick will work if the tune is OK.

If the MAF is bad... it could be sending crap data to the PCM which is making bad adjustments based on bad data. If you unplug it, the PCM relies on its best guess which may or may not be close. If you have some mods and have not had a special tune, chances are the PCM's best guess is not very accurate (hence some of you not being able to run without your MAF).

After a good tune, my car ran very nicely (seemingly) without the MAF... just a bit sluggish on throttle response.

Clean the MAF before replacing it.
