Long time reader, first time poster smile

I have a 2000 3.8L GP GT. Just the other day on the e-way i noticed that it seemed to be running at a higher rev than normal. After watching it closely for a couple days, it shifts normally until you get to overdrive. It never shifts into overdrive All the other shifting is smooth and the fluid level is good and the correct color. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

You don't have any vacuum modulation on your trans so that thread doesn't apply 100%.

It sounds to me like it is a solenoid issue though.

I'm not sure what's involved in fixing it so I won't say anything to get your hopes up or make it seem like a bigger issue than it may be.

Thanks, I'm gonna take it to a transmission shop and get an estimate. Keep your fingers crossed that its a cheap repair. Just had the oil changed today and mechanic said it looks like the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets may be leaking....and its an expensive repair.

Your 4th Clutch Shaft has stripped out.

Here is what I mean.

If it is the 4th clutch shaft then yes, it would.

Corey, would there not be metal shavings in the oil if he drained it if it is the clutch shaft?

I have read about solenoids causing overdrive problems before.

There should be some shavings in the Tranny pan if it is, but it could be in the filter. I always open up my filters to take a look inside for shavings.
