changed oil on 98 gtp. started motor and checked for leaks. injectors seem to make the usual clicking sound. after a few minutes a new clicking/rattle sound started. seemed up high and i could feel it thru the supercharger case. is this normal or something to watch? could it be the SC coupler?

from an N/A guy: coupler. I was there for the diagnosis and replacement of a blower coupler a couple of years ago in North Carolina. It makes a clicking noise and is eliminated after plugging in a new plastic piece. IIRC, it's about 2 hours under not-ideal conditions.

i took off SC belt and turned pulley CW and CCW and did not feel any looseness in snout. should i feel some free play in pulley? not that a coupling is a big deal.

not necessarily. iirc, the pulley I felt had no play in it, but it did click.

No see you said it was coming from the Tensioner area he can feel it through the S/C case. Big diff and the reason for two different diagnoses.

take off the supercharger belt and spin the tensioner and idler pulleys, you'll know if one needs to be replaced.
