I have a 98 GP. Some animal completly ate through the harness to EGR valve. I wanted to splice back in, but found that there are two identical colors.

One red
One brn
One Brn w/ strip
Two Tan

Does anyone know what is up with this. With supercharger, I was told there is a black wire, buit I do not have this.

Are there two identicle wires for extra power.

Searched the web and can not find any info.

Thanks for help.

Here's what I have for a '98 GP EGR valve:

Gray (E)- EGR Valve ign positive volt (Pin 4 in PCM)

Red (A)-egr valve control (gnd)

Gray (D)- eng harness left top front of eng

BRN (C)-EGR Pintle Position Signal (Pin 28 in PCM)

BRN (B)- sensor ground (Pin 31 in PCM)

Thanks that is first confirmation that there are in fact designed to be duplicate colors. Sure is crazy.

Am I wrong to think I can find Gray (E)- EGR Valve ign positive volt (Pin 4 in PCM)using a test light back to ground. That is, it will be the gray that has power while the other does not.
