I just had a new catalyic converter installed and I was just wondering if it should have been welded because the dealer just bolted the converter on.

no, they bolt on. one flange at the manifold, and another flange right behind it

whats the mileage on your g.p. and did they replace your cat under warranty and what was your cost plus what yr is your g.p.??

My gp is a 2001 with 120000km on it.The converter was covered under warranty,therefore I paid nothing which is good because they wanted $700.00 for a new one.

Everything on the stock exhaust is bolt-on. I bet your happy you didn't have to pay, for another $100 you could have gotten the slp headers with the install kit and catalytic converter.

$700! Oh wait, forgot your from Canada. So about $584.26? For some reason that still seems preety high to me and for that price I say get the entire cat back system.

I believe when they replace a stock cat it's the DP,cat and U-bend it's all one piece and a bolt on .
