Im selling the 1997 GTP I want to sell it for around 1800$. It has almost new brakes, tires are about 85-90% wheels are excellent, new fuel pump, motor is on the way out the door, exhaust was cut off by mechanic because the cat went. Car is all straight, sans motor/exhaust. Make me an offer, and I can tow it to you for an additional fee. This car is a parts car. MAKE sure you know this. If you want to contact me- AIM: rideredx16, MSN- Chris.Riedinger AT gmail.com, Email- Chris.riedinger AT cox.net Leather interior is very good, save a small blemish on the drivers seat. Would be a great car for a motor-swap. Also, new EGR, plugs, if any of that matters. I think KBB on the car is ~4700$. My mom is about ready to donate the car- please help me, anyone. BTW- I paid 2500+ 300$ for new fuel pump+ 450$ for new EGR+Plugs +90$ for new coils.

If someone buys this, let me know how much you want for the front/rear fascias and side skirts if you part it out.

Maryland is about as far as I would like to go. If you want me to transport it, you would have to pay for trailer rental(one way- UHaul), gas, and some food $$. That would be on top of the 1800$ for the car. Let me know.

It needs at least an exhaust system and 02 sensors. After that, I dont think it needs anything. But, eventually (probably like 10k miles) it will need a rebuild because the GM motors dont like to be driven hard past even 100k miles. they only designed the motors for 100k miles.

Unless it was abused, every 3800 series should be good for at least 200k. They're practically bullet proof as far as modern engines go, and there are plenty of people with the high milage motors to prove it.

How did you come up with that idea?

Yeah seriously, I just traded in a 89 Bonneville with the original 3800, it had over 225K on it. No problems with the engine at all.

That "over 100k" theory more so applies to early 80s engines.

All modern engines can last well above 100k with ease. They have to now as some people reach 100k in about 3-4 years.

*Just though of something* Uhhh yea, your right. its going to break down very, very soon. These engines are pieces of junk it is. $1800, you say? Sure it shouldn't be lower?
( wink )

So...why does it have to be towed?? B/c the 02's are shot?

I have no problem with giving you $1600 and coming up there and getting it

From what he said above, it has definately had engine trouble with parts replaced. Maybe it's on a salvage title or something?
