Hey guys, this is my first post so forgive my ignorance to Grand Prix's for a while lol.

I've been looking for a GTP for about a week, and haven't even found one for sale anywhere. I'm going to look around more before I give up on it. But if I can't find one, how much nitrous can the GT's engine and transmission handle? 50 shot, 75 shot? I'd like to possibly run mid-14's on nitrous in a GT.

Also, I never see you guys getting high stall torque converters like so many other people do with other vehicles. Have I just not noticed it, or is there a reason you aren't getting them for your Grand Prix?

You can safely run a 75shot with proper prep and this would shave about 1 sec. of your 1/4 mile time ,as far as trans. if your not to aggressive with your launch you should be ok ,and lastly yes some of us run a hi-stall convertor but the reason would be the benefit when running an aftermarket camshaft.Chico.

So if I run a 75 shot, but don't spray in first gear at all...and ran a WOT sensor, anything else I'd need for engine/trans safety?

What guages would be most vital for a nitrous setup? And why do most people on here seem to prefer the wet system to the dry (or is that just for the supercharged cars)?

Sorry for all the questions, lol, thanks Chico and whoever else replies.

wet would be for the supercharged cars....a dry shot ranging from 55-75 is basic for a gt especially running a nice mid 14....i just purchased a zex dru nitrous system intstalled it and it ran beautiful, but im might be purchasing a new car so quite soon after intalling i uninstalled....the kit cost any were from 500-550.....i want to get rid of mine for as low as 400.....i also have the throttle body spacer so it sprays directly into the manifold which allows it to not go through all of your intake and TB sensors.....it is a very nice setup let me know if your interested

I may be interested about 3 months after I find a GT, lol. I have to sell my truck, buy a GT, then I'll start working on getting parts for it. If you still have the system at that time, we can talk though, $400 sounds a lot better than $500 lol.

Oh, and what would you guys say the stock GT's run usually in the 1/4 mile? On that note, what would you expect to run with intake, exhaust (Dynomax maybe), and the 75 shot?

Thanks guys, Aaron

Thanks gteisele. So you think a GT with 75 shot would outrun a stock GTP?

OH, and before I forget, here's a general nitrous question- Do you need to run high octane gas for nitrous? If so, how high?

I used a buddy who bought cars through auctions. I told him what I wanted and the colors I prefered and he found my GTP. It is kind of a rare car, when I got mine in 2004, I had to go with my color. I saved a few thousand and It was detailed to the T when I got it. I also found some cash in the truck underneath the carpet...

Where could I go to check out auctions? I have no idea who to contact or anything as far as going to one. I think i may know someone who could try to find me one through an auction though, even if I can't go.

I was introduced to a gentleman by a friend who went to auctions and had alot of connections. He is based in the Orlando area but went even out of state and was always on the phone. I told him what I wanted (gtp various colors) and when he saw something he gave me a ring. I got two cars from the guy. I did not get to see it before he bought it. However, he was a great guy. I just thought it might be an option if you can get a hold of someone like that.
