Im new to the site, names austin and im looking at buying a 98 GT with 170k on it. they want 3500 for it. Should I do it or see what else there is. Its got leather seats, sunroof, BBS wheels. Nothing wrong with the car, just the miles.

ehh...could probably find a better deal out there...maybe a gtp with lower miles...depends on what you want to spend, and how mechanically inclined you are...i paid 2500 for my old 97 gt and all it needed was paint...so just keep your eyes open!

Yea man, I would suggest looking at the GTP. You will NOT regret it. I came from a 98 GT and now I have a 99 GTP. HUGE difference. I got mine for 6885 with 71,561 miles.

But if you're set on the GT, you can get a GT for fewer miles for a really good price. Just consider your options, and welcome!

3500, for a 98 GT with 170K, I wouldn't I got a 97 GT with only 75K for the same amount.

Alright well I might just get the car for 3k straight up. Nothing is wrong with the car at all. Perfect shape. What all mods are available to this type of car?

He asked for opinions doesn't mean he has to listen. It's his money so lay off.

Besides a deal is in the eye of the beholder. His location prices might be a bit higher or the car a bit rarer.

As for mods check out my website that's a good primer for you. Chico is the man when it comes to modding GTs. His N/A 3.8 will smoke all stock GTPs and some modded ones.

$3k is decent. As long as nothing mechanical is wrong, I'd say go for it. The tranny would be my main concern, the engine can take a lot of mileage.
