I bought my car with Sony Xplod speakers in it already. All of them are xplods, the tweeters, front speakers, and the 6x9's in the rear. My friend told me yesterday that the sony xplods have a bad track record. He said alot of them...well Explode. Has anyone had a bad experience with these speakers?

Sonys are good. My friend had them in his jeep and you could hear his music from like 3km away lol. He always had the music cranked like that and they only just went after like 2 years. Now he is going to JBL because he tried them in his car and loves em. I personaly love Pioneer they have out lasted my friends sonys and I have had em just as long and use em just as hard. (We listen to Rock/Metal so may not have same results with rap etc.)

sony explodes are ok but not great...

they dont put out a lot of wattage and personally waste of money...out of the stuff u can buy at best buy and such alpines and infinity's are rly nice. However u go higher up in performance explodes arnt as great. they dont even come close to some kenwood and pyramid lol explodes the 6 x 9 put out what 190 watts each lol the kenwoods blow out 800watts and the pyramids probably 600watts model depending of course.

But i dont know how powerful of a sound u want lol so the explodes are nice for there lvl of sound.

Ya like I said they sound really good they just don't last for any length of time if you pound them like every good person should who listens to good music drown out all the rap lol. (sorry if I offended anyone)

I've got an Xplod system except for stock 6x9's in the rear.

It's just fine for me. I don't know about you guys but I let the supercharger drown out any rap I'm next too.

I may be a little bit late on posting here but I've had, and seen others with sony xplods. To me, they're useless, sound like crap (no offence to ne one that owns them around here..) but I would defiently go with infinity for all of your up front speakers. Also if you don't already have a 4 channel amp for your front speakers i'd advise gettin one. I got 4 Infinity Reference speakers in my car and I must say they sound amazing with this 4 channel alpine amp I got. As far as woofers go, I wouldnt touch sony, but thats me. I'd go with Hifonics, Alpine, or Rockford fosgate for a woofer and same goes with amps. I dont know if you've replaced ones that came with your car but I would advise it if you want best sound quality/loudness.

I have a couple 12" xplodes sitting around here not being used. My 10" infinity sounds way better actually.

yea I mean I'm more worried about the cars performance right now, but alot of people have recommended the infinity speakers to me so they will come in the future. As far as subs go, I'm split on that...like I said I am more worried about getting more performance out of the car than sound. So I think some infinity speakers and a good amp will do.
