Ok, I know this has been discussed before, but I did a search, went 10 pages in, and only find things about rims/wheels.

My Falken ZIEX ZE-912s are in need of replacement. They have a 65,000 mile warranty, and only lasted about 12,000. So, even though I love how they handle, I don't feel like buying new tires ever 10-12 months if I don't have to.

So, what do you guys recommend? They have to have good handling and traction, and I'd like to get some that have a decent warranty from Discount Tire . And a decent tread life would be nice too...

If your into breaking the bank, BFG KDW's, sick tires! otherwise GoodYear Eagle GT's, or Good Year Assurance's are very nice tires.

Goodyear ResponsEdge or Bridgestone Potenza RE92. These Potenzas are lasting for freakin EVER. The ResponsEdge were hard to kill. That carbon fiber and Kevlar combination, dude!

I prefer the rubber ones, the ones you put air in....

i bet i could kill a set in less than an hour with a modded GTP with a tranny that could handle the long burnout.

lol, goobers. Jon, if you were to search my topics Feedback on ResponsEdge and Feedback on Potenza, you'll get the more detailed versions of my experiences. Love these two tires, but the ResponsEdge more so than the Potenza.

If you want good tires at a great price please consider the Kumho ECSTA. That is what I am running and I love them! I work at a GM dealership in the parts dept and have recomended/sold them to quite a few people. Not one person has anythjing bad to say.

I also liked the RE92 until 1/2 tread. They became a little noisy and wet traction SUCKED. But living in Texas, how often would this affect you? My new fav tire is the Firehawk GT. I also reccommend the Firestone Indy 500. It is T-rated so more for a driver and not one for someone who regularly pushes their car in corners, and it sounds like you do.

I just purchased the Firehawk GTs a few months ago and they are darn nice. Replaced my RE92's which were also a very good tire.

OK, after looking around some, I'm currently looking at these three (all Goodyear)

ResponsEdge

Assurance TripleTread

Eagle GT

I'm not sure how much I like the Eagle GTs, not having a warranty.

I'm kinda leaning towards the TripleTread, because in Rick's other post he said that the ResponsEdge would have to be replaced about yearly, which is how long these Falkens lasted me. If I wanted that, I would stay with them. :p And the 80,000 mile warranty on the TripleTeads is staggering. But it's 5:00 am here, so I'm going to bed. Let me know what you guys think tomorrow.

I need to get new tires in the near future, because my inspection sticker expires this month and I won't pass with two of the tires I have now. Gee, that's the same reason I bought my Falkens last year...needed new tires to pass. Interesting.

I have Goodyear Eagle LS. My summer car have that tire since 2005. Of course, I usually make tire rotation every 5,000 miles. They pretty last longer. I keep wondering when I'm going to buy new tires? lol When I brought my winter car last year. They have bald tires so I brought other Goodyear Eagle LS. They handle pretty good in the snow if you have any bad winter. I have been happy with them. No problem with them. No flat tires yet.

Possibly the worst tire made IMHO I ran through a set in about 12000 miles on the GTO .Chico(pops)
