When it comes to installing a smaller pulley on the SC i understand that it will alter the fit of the belt. So will a 3.4 pulley require a new shorter belt or will the tensioner adjust enough to compensate for the difference to where i can keep using the stock belt?

Actually, im using an oem belt and it works fine. If you go down to 3.3 you'll need a new belt. I don't know if others with the 3.4 have had this problem, but when using a smaller belt, I had to replace 2 idler pullies, and I had a problem with the belt slipping off the pully grooves. With an oem belt, I have had no problems, and no belt slipping while going WOT once a day.

Thanks i just wanted to look into it before buying a 3.4 pulley and well a buddy of mine was telling me about belt slips if i kept my OEM belt and how i should use a smaller belt.

By the way what does WOT mean Ive seen it so many times before and i feel pretty stupid for not knowing the meaning lol

You want a smaller belt for a 3.4. WOT means Wide Open Throttle like hammer down, pedal to the metal!

I ran a stock belt on my 3.4 for like a week, but had so much belt slip i couldnt stand it. So i went and bought a new belt.

Well i guess i could try the stock for a bit if i have problems ill just get a new one... and as far as mods are concerned im just starting to look into performance for the last couple of months its been repair after repair... i do have an aftermarket intake but i wouldn't even concider it a mod since it doesn't have a heatshield and is completely exposed to engine temp. lol

You shouldn't be dropping pulleys then if you only have an intake. you need a tune, 180* tstat, colder plugs most prefer auto lite 104's, at least some exhaust work, power log and down pipe, or i would go headers. and before you even consider dropping pulleys, get something to scan with. You need to see if you have KR. any KR is bad, and with a 3.4 with zero mods you will have a bunch and will most likely blow it up. Don't drop until you know you are safe to.

Awesome advice thanks a lot i really didn't know where to start but now i have an idea... now when it comes to headers ive been hesitant because i know some have a tendency to crack; of course i know i prob shouldn't worry about it right now since my car is a stocker but hopefully in time it will be a much better build, any recommendations brand/quality wise?

They dont crack, the only thing that does is the first gen PLOG from ZZP. but besides that theres many options such as TOG's or SSAC headers, along with Pace setters also ZZP headers. Theres plenty out there with their positives and negatives.

SSACs are 350 shipped, you cant beat that but theyre kinda tough to seal up. I have SSAC's and love them. Though its really about how much money youre willing to drop on your exhaust.

Give up run away don't mod it!!! Once you start you don't stop. Warning step away from the forum and do not mod your car!

Now with that being said it all comes down to one main thing. $$$$

ZZP
TOG
SLP
S&S - for more mild builds
Pacesetters -welded

Everything else = junk
