Take the oil cap off and look underneath it. If it is all white and milky, either they do lots of short trips with moisture always building up, or it has a small coolant leak into the engine. Look at paint under gas door for bubbling. They rust there. front rotors are known for warping if driven hard, but they are cheap and easy to replace.

you might also wanna look at the lower intake manifold. I know the GTs have the LIM gasket leaks, but cant remember what the blown folks were reporting. welcome to the board, btw. sorry it took so long to respond. it seems sometime in the last year this place has gotten REALLY quiet, but this is, by FAR, the single most civilized forum for the GP. if not in all of car-dom.

Ok I looked at it and bought it.There was a little milky buildup on the cap,so I had the guy drive it to my personal mechanic who said it's no big deal. She did drive a very short distance to work.My guy did mention that I will need to get the intake gasket done at some point, but not a biggie. The P.o. had a stack of maintenance records with it. So I got a one owner, rust free, very clean,4dr GTP with 79k on it for 5300.Did I do ok in the monies department? Thanks Billy

if you know anything about cars and have the necessary tools, you can spend $50 on the gaskets plus some red rtv and do the job yourself. plus you will need coolant and coolant elbows(as they always break during the take off process), i suggest going with the prestone green coolant, as the dex cool will just eat away at your gaskets, which is why you are already replacing the gaskets anyways.

I do,but i really don't want to mess with it,It's a 4th car for the oldest child and I would feel better about a guy who's done hundreds of these, rather than me do it,I have zero patience at all and will just get irritated.

you can get single VC gaskets at dealer. why is a GTP gasket $22 and a GT gasket $7? is it because the GT is so much more common than the GTP? lots more parts out there? gaskets are almost identical. my caddy northstar VC gasket is $34 at dealer or $50 for whole set online. has sparkplug seals and grommets for perimeter bolts.
