You can always try calling another shop; in my area, most guys use the local Mad Hatter for performance exhaust work. hammer

Re: called a shop - 05/09/08 04:20 PM

You think that's bad?

Yesterday, some guy had me pop my hood.

He said it had a 5-speed manual, custom painted headers, and a chrome drive shaft.

He also said it was naturally aspirated and that the "supercharger" was what he called a drive shaft. WTF is a "drive shaft?"

...

He closed the hood looking all smug and stuff. I was like /facepalm and left. He said his V6 mercury cougar ran 13's in the 1/4.

I don't think he's ever even BEEN to a drag strip...

Re: called a shop - 05/09/08 04:55 PM

just went to the shop to give dimensions of the borla pro xs muff he said it might not fit??? he also said that i wouldn't notice a difference with reducing the muffs to 2.25, because that would give me 4", so it looks like im gonna go to a different shop, oh and he quoted me 150 to 180, don't know if that includes new piping to or not.

Re: called a shop - 05/09/08 05:54 PM

I'll take a freaking picture of my 2.5" piping and PROVE to them it can bend that sharp.

And he couldn't work for Kaleco Auto, they have SOME basis in actual car knowledge.

Re: called a shop - 05/09/08 10:33 PM

I bent my own exhaust I ran FULL!!! 2.5" with a regular exhaust bender... there is lots of room, now 3" might have been hard but I am not seasoned at the exhaust end, I am use to V8 stuff straight back, but it can be done find a shop that will there has to be one around you.
Good luck and dont give up! You will love it when its done!

Re: called a shop - 05/09/08 11:02 PM

the guys at my local shop here can bend 3" in a complete circle and stuff it overaxle on a honda hatchback, the dudes where you live are retarded!!!

if you didnt live so far away i could send to 20 diff places and they would all do it for a good price, and it would be quality work

Re: called a shop - 05/09/08 11:45 PM

alot of the places are appointment only, so you would have to cruise down here, schedule and give them an overview of what you want done, then either leave it there over night or leaven and come back 1st. thing in the morning and you'll have it back by or before the end of the day

heres all the places me and some peo[ple i know had great work done along with good service:

Anders Garage
Tyrone, PA

McCracken's Garage
Bellwood, PA

Star Rebuilders
Altoona, PA

Anders did my exhaust on my truck, great work and great price

McCracken's does ALOT of work for my old boss, lots of muscle car work

And Star Rebuilders does custom exhaust all the time, they've done my friends GTP (full 2.5) and also a friends Volvo, and a friends Cavalier

so those are the best places I recommend

And also just about all these places will either fab a new Y section or they carry something that they've used and know works good
