Lack of Power, clogged cat?

Lack of Power, clogged cat? - 04/12/10 01:16 AM

My SES light came on for cat issue a few weeks ago and I do have a rough idle. Boost at all speeds has a harder time going to full bars on the dic. Car feels like its lacking power. Are these symptoms of a clogged cat?

Could be. Did you get your car scanned to see exactly what the SES light is saying?

I would take this route if I didn't have headers. So until I have time and money for install I'll take to dealer for warranty fix of cat and be done with it so I don't have to waste any money on that. A catless downpipe sounds tempting though..

the dealer wont touch it with headers on. they will say that caused your issue.

Lol I don't have headers on at the moment sorry that was misleading (my last message). I'm waiting to get my headers on, thats why I thought I would go to dealer for the "stock" treatment then this summer get headers on. I'm very tired this morning and we all know I can't explain things that well anyway...

Went today and also got some Autolite XP iridiums (104)'s will those work well with my comp g as of where it sits now with just a CAI?

you should use 605s until you drop a pulley size.

Is it alright to run the 104's since the comp g is more prone to knock?

they're not really much more so than a standard 97-03 GTP. your choice, but you're going to foul up 104s quickly if you use them without needing them. stock pulley I would use 605s.
