another auto lamp Q - 11/30/08 03:30 PM

well i know that ppl always ask and ppost about DRLS and autos... but ive seem to notice a trend of how none of them talks about disabling the auto on headlights ... i have a 2002 n i disabled the DRLS already ... but i want to know how to disable the autos ... a write would be great for a 2002 because i know theres some about 99 but thats easy .. just pull a fuse ... so thanks and let me know

Isn't there a harness you pull out that is behind the access panel?

Their is but does that work for 2000+?

I thought they changed in 2000+? I'm not sure, I think all I had to do was pull the fuse because it's a 97. I don't remember, it's been a while.

Go on the driver-side panel (when you open car door you will see a rectangular access panel on the dash piece. Once you have that off you can simply unplug a clip from the heatsink on the back. (maybe u've done that already, probably.) Once that is done if you dont want your lights on during the day or not you can flip your switch on dash to just turn off the lights (halfway between on and park, visa versa on the other side of the switch inbetween w/e the other ones are). It should work cause it works on my 02..

Not sure. I have a 98. I just pulled the fuse, also.

newer models need to disconnect the module GTAlpine mentions above to disable DRL, but auto-on is still enabled. To disable auto-on, you need to add a resistor to the light sensor in the center of the dash to make the computer think it is always sunny.

older models just needed to pull the fuse, which took care of both DRL and auto-on.

as others have said, see backinblack's site for specific details.
