For you guys out there with the "modified" photographs, thunderbat specifically. how are you guys creating the images? photoshop? some type of graphics software. its looks awesome, i would love to be able to do it myself.

I have photoshop on the laptop but I have paint shop pro on my desktop. I think Paint shop pro is more user friendly. I'm not talking MSPaint.

we actually have several different photo editing programs on the PC now...pretty much everytime you buy a digi camera or printer the software includes photo editing of some type. My wife is experimenting with PhotoShop, which I think if you have the full-tilt version is about the best out there. I've just been using my PaintShopPro for so long and I know all the tools, I've havent expended the effort to learn another program. I think PaintShop's weakness lies in the color modification area.
...btw, AustinGTP did a lot of the sigs here on the site based from wallpaper chops I did...my present sig is a "Bobby chop"
