i wounldnt say its 100% snake oil.I mean its like an air filter for the exhaust and the filter has to be changed out every so often so it counld in fact reduce emissions. As far as gaining mpg ahhh prob not likely smile

Assuming it does in fact cause the cat to run hotter, it will improve efficiency at removing some hydrocarbons. But that's purely an emissions thing, shouldn't effect gas mileage at all.

This matched with a Tornado should get you into the 50mpg area wink

If it indeed slows the exhaust from escaping it's hindering the air pump. If anything I would believe MPGs would suffer because you are hampering the efficiency of the airflow.

One theory I heard is it adds backpressure, robbing you of power. Less power, possibly better mpg as long as that extra power wasn't needed to keep the car moving. Would be easy for the manufacturer to test if they wanted to, put it on a dyno before and after.

I was bored while on-duty so I did some surfing. The EPA calculates MPG by measuring carbons and other stuff from the exhaust pipe. It makes sense that if this product "filters" them out, the EPA will show better MPG. Kinda how Ford used to cheat emisions tests by adding an air pump. It just pumped clean air into the dirty exhaust diluting it, so it passed the EPA tests.
