Hi Richard,
I felt the same way at first; to me it was just a "nice black Pontiac". Didn't realize there was any aftermarket support, or anyone else who was "into" these cars, until I ran across pfyc.com and grandprix.net. Then the enthusiast bug bit, and I felt a little better about it. I actually received a lot of criticism from my cruise night buddies, for buying a Pontiac! Go figure...

lol, yeah, dont get me wrong, love my car, love GM, and I do believe that I may be forever hooked on Ponchos for the rest of my life. I do wanna eventually get to addressing the lack of throttle response and raw power that the car is capable of, and I will buy some good suspension pieces. Gettin to a Mod Day, cruise night, or club meeting would be cool, if I has any in this area. I just dunno if I'm that into any car, ya know?

I've actually been amazed that so many of these cars are riding around and are seemingly going un-noticed by the performance community...probably the only reason there is such good aftermarket support was because the GP was a popular marque with the NASCAR crowd...now that those days have passed it will be interesting to see how long it holds out...and the book looks cool btw lol

Mine came in today.
Rather interesting book. I skimmed through it (reading the pictures) but I will find time to read it.

I think so. I'm happy with what I got for the money spent.
It's got a picture of a rusted out one off prototype in a junk yard, and a few other pics of different Grand Prix prototypes that didn't make it into production. Some of them kinda look like the Camaro's.
It's got a section that shows how the 97-03 models were designed, and how many different designs were made. There are pics of several "clay" cars that were made half with one front end design and a different front end design on the other half. They did it that way so they could have a side by side comparison. They would put a mirror up to half of the pic to get a full view of one design, then flip the mirror to the other side of the car to get a full view of the second design.
