Took the TBSS to the track--- - 10/14/06 10:03 PM

I took thr TrailBlazer SS to the track

300# added weight, AWD TBSS, bone stock down to the paper filter --

13.98 @ 98.3 on a 2.1 60'

Not too shabby for a 5000lb SUV!!! that can TOW a boat and haul the stuff!

cheers

Nice, I love those trucks except its only a 4 speed tranny, GM is the only ones still with the 4 speed on some cars, even the jeep SRT-8 has a five speed. Overall its very nice for a SUV and the looks of it is amazing especially the center exhaust. Keep up the good work!

Re: Took the TBSS to the track--- - 10/18/06 10:31 PM

First off this is anot a 2 door vehicle (LIghtning) -- If I wanted that I would have kept my GTO wich was a Lightning Killer!

This is a 5000+Lb truck that can tow upwards of 7000lbs and haul many cubic feet of cargo as well as 5 people and still run a 13 second 1320.

Now I will admit there are faster vehicles but you have to admit for me to be able to tow the boat/5 friends and all the gear and still be able to hit the track on Friday night and run 13s (BONE STOCK) is pretty badass!

I would like to see a GC SRT-8 do that!

I wish they all trailblazers looked like the SS's...but in general I think its time for the trailblazer to get a facelift. Going into its 6th year pretty much untouched.

Well first off jizz I was not saying anything negative and I never said you had a 2 door of anything, calm down and keep everything on here positive!

Did not mention your name once.

SteveOGTP said watch out for Lightnings. Thus the 2-door comment.
You did however mention the SRT-8, and for me I wanted a vehicle that could TOW/Haul more than a hotdog cart. So the SRT-8 was out. Although I would never own a Kraut Mobile either.

German cars are nothing to take lightly. They make some of the best quality and best performance cars. VW owns Bugatti, Audi owns Lambo, then theres Mercedes, BMW, Porsche. They all make fast cars, not so much fast SUVs but the Porsche Cayenne Turbo would probably beat you. Both have V8's, both have AWD and similar towing capacities (the porsche can actually tow more). Granted the porsche does cost $50,000 more, so you could buy 2 TBSS's for the price of one Cayenne, but the Porsche would beat you. (Assuming that both drivers were of similar skill level and knew the area that you're racing in)

German cars can be faster, stronger, and of better quality than American cars, but to do so they rape your wallet.

My point exactly...

and hey can you please provide the Porche Turbo tow ratings as well as the cargo space please?

So my point is -- GM FTMFW!!! once again!

TBSS has more interior room, but less towing capacity...

Very impressive for a 5000lb suv and the potential for the 6 ltre is great ,is that a cast block with aluminum heads? My oldest daughter bought an06 Tahoe with the 6 ltre and it feels strong though not as tourcey down low as my Titan though the 5spd in the Titan may be the difference ,and I hear you on the GTO vs Lightening .Chico.

Yes the porch is a nice vehicle but, my truck can out 0-60 the Porch and for 1/3 the cost.

But over all it is pretty cool that you have to pick a $90K SUV to compete with the Lowly TBSS smile

There is already one running mid-low 11s on Headers,Stall and a 150 shot.

And a few guys are in the process of doing Superchargers or Turbos.

Should be interesting.

Yes this is the Vette 6.0L - all aluminum

no, I picked the porsche cuz you were saying that german cars werent any good. And as with most foreign premium brands, they're gonna be expensive.

Wow, that's really fast. I ran a Ford Lightning in my Talon at the track, and he ran a 14.1 and probably weighed quite a bit less than you. That's very impressive for that truck...

I want one!
