Gas anyone wanna share?

Well we're still super low on gas. On average only one gas station in a five mile radius has any fuel at all. And when you find it you better be prepared to wait an hour in line. And you can't be picky on the grade either. Man this sucks really, really sucks. Some are saying things should get back to normal in about a week others are saying three to four.

So any one wanna tanker some good ole 91 to me here in Marietta?

The bass should have some of that around. I'm sure you could buy a couple gallons...

Atlanta, Charlotte NC and a couple other towns in NC, TN are all experiencing shortage.

Hmmm. I guess all of GA isn't cheap. I know GA for the longst time had areas that gas was like the cheapest in the nation.

Since Ike hit we've had the highest fuel costs in the 48 contigious states.

gas is 3.54 right now. Ive been filling up with Mid Grade recently...i like the extra oomph i get!

if there's any way i can ship it to ya, i will. Im pretty sure UPS and USPS frown on the combustable stuff

Herc you got any idea why theres a gas shortage there? Isnt that where a majority of fuel comes from in that area? Why would there be a shortage down there?

it feels like its never going to get finished. I think the fuel shortage will be over long before this POS is done

Gas prices was 3.50 before Ike hit and gas prices went back up to 3.80 but now its back down to 3.42.

JP-7 has an extremely high flash point. It was made for the SR-71. You could literally drop a cigarette in it and it would go out. Aircraft fuel has a high level of kerosene in it. Diesel cars and trucks could run on it, but not a gas car. I know the base probably has plenty of gas for their vehicles, but I would not want to get caught trying to fill up my POV. You could ne a new resident of Kansas, Leavenworth that is.

Gas dropped to $3.19 today here.

Ike shut down refineries, people panicked and were stopping to fuel up when they still had 3/4s of a tank. Ever since then the panick has been on refineries haven't had a chance to catch up. So currently the demand is far out stripping the supply. It's 1973 all over again here. Cops are taking up shop at gas stations who have gas to keep the violence down. Fuel truck drivers have been threatened with their lives etc. It's an ugly ugly world here right now.

Ike did shut down the refineries along the gulf coast, which supplies about 25% of the nation with gas. At the time the refineries shut down, they only had a minimal amount of fuel on hand. The refineries were shut down for a couple of weeks. Once they were due to come back online, it will take a couple of weeks before the tanker trucks will be filled and on the road for delivery. Refineries are back online and I think they were saying things should start clearing up within a couple of weeks.

Luckily here in Austin, we get our fuel from the Corpus Christi refineries which were not affected by Ike. We have not seen any shortage here in Austin.

I filled up for 3.29 yesterday at QT.... Gas is dropping like crazy here! last week it was 3.59...

Mine is 3.56. My half sister who live in GA. Her house is around 20 miles from Atlanta. She has to wait for 1 hour and half for get gas.

I can't imagine for that. I'm glad I'm not from South but man it is really suck. I heard some school closed and some people have day off for work because they couldn't get gas. It should back normal in 2 weeks later or so.

Yep my office is taking days off to lessen the commute.

Well, our gas is back down (yeah, right) where I fill up to $3.73 from a high of .... $4.99 for regular. People went crazy, like Herc said. Filling up when they have over 3/4 tank.

It's slowly getting better. The bigger 24 hour stations like QT and BP had all pumps running this morning with no lines. Only problem was 87 octane only at 3.97. It was either fill up or run out. So looks like more babyin the throttle for me.

Dang, that's high price. My gas station just change to $3.46 right now. I was hoping it is under $3 which I'm okay with that. I guess I will have to wait and see. It is getting drop few cents since Ika ($3.99). No gain yet.
