Has anyone here gotten to test drive/drive or be a passenger in a new Pontiac GTO? I'm wondering because I park next to one almost everyday and the thing just sounds mean when its on and would love to know what its like to be in one of those things.

i had one staring at my taillights all night one day at the racetrack, the guy let me sit in it and stuff after. it was black with red leather. very nice interior. but he wasnt happy losing to me

yep. bone stock 5.7L.

I took on a few of those, i took on ONE 6.0 supercharged one time, never would i do that again with the set up i had, even tho i ran 12's, that car left me at the stage lights. but i have ridden in one, my cousin has a bone stock 5.7 one, its pretty nice, its silver.

hmm, i'd like to know how you ran 1.9's with an XP cam, especially on stock heads.

i took the 1.9's out when i got the cam, i got the cam like 3 weeks before i sold the car. i just copy and pasted the list from got3800, the cam isnt listed on that list on that site. i just added that.

ok. what injectors were you using?

i like my odds of running 12's then in spring since i'll have that same mod list and using that prototype intercooler Corey posted.

42.5#, i was gonna run the 65# but then id have to upgrade the fuel pump to be able to push that much fuel.

Also i forgot to add i was running 105 springs instead of the stock 90's.

stock 6.0 gto's would be running mid 13's. and he said it was supercharged so I can easily see it leaving him at the stages like he said.

Talk to Elen... 3 of his roommates now have GTO's. 1 is a 5.7, 1 is a 6.0, and the other is a 6.0 twin turbo. I rode in the twin turbo. It was unbelievable.

Well, he said it was supercharged... s/c 6.0L V8 > s/c 3.8L V6

I had driven an 03 GTO in Savannah. It was the 350, and DUUUDE that thing was BAAAAD!!! Smooth yet responsive ride. Well engineered. I was expecting more of a refined appearence, though. Looked real plasticky (not a word, I know. It works, though...).

Co-worker has one. 6.0 6-speed. He has wheel hop issues when shifting to second if he is really on it with street tires. I've seen lots of automatics be faster and more consistant at the race track due to this, but they also have a higher stall converter.

They are fast, handle very good, well mannered for a daily driver and easy to mod. The back seats are even not so bad.

IMO, stock exterior is weak, even with the "ram air" hood scoops. They need exterior mods to set them off as a muscle car, unless you are going for a sleeper look.

With the right exhaust, the sound can make me feel like I'm 15 and seeing my first porno.

ya but he runs low 12's. That gto stock is low 14's though.

I don't think he was running low 12s maybe mid to high 12s. That stock gto would have been mid to low 13s. And it wasn't stock

The 04 GTO runs mid 13's with the LS1 ,05 LS2 runs low 13's ,and I can tell you with headers and intake and DR's your in the 12's,the LSXX motors take very little to make them perform ,I own both a GTO and a GP and the feal and sound of a RWD V8 can't be beat,and do'nt compare apples to oranges with equal mods we all know who will win.

I ran mid 12's Tim, that GTO was way hopped up.

Bad driver probably.

You'd think that the GTO that big of engine could lay it down to our cars but I guess not if you have a GTP modded.

our cars arent that fastest in the world by any means, but with a few mods, we dont go down too easy. I 13 second car will beat a lot of cars

Just becareful of this car. The magazines were able to rip off a low 13 sec run.

Just think all these 14 to 13 second cars out now compared to when the GTP rolled off the line 11 years ago!!!! Not much out there to challenge Pontiacs midsize sedan.

the front of that Genesis is pretty sexy. the back not so much.
