Pre-November Project

Pre-November Project - 06/27/08 12:12 PM

I just got done undertaking a project to complete an AR15 (actually a 16" M4 clone). I bought a stripped lower receiver and a parts kit and assembled it myself. With a Democratic controlled congress, a possible Democrat presidency, and a AWB renewal submitted earlier this month, I figured it was time. Purchased mostly with funds from my parents for graduating college. smile

Now to purchase a 6.8 upper and use it for deer hunting (or custom load some Barnes TSX bullets).

nice... took you that long? aren't people in the army supposed to assemble guns in a few minutes or so...

Things take time, especially when you have lots of choices to make. wink I assembled the whole lower in under 30 minutes, minus having to construct my own detent pins (yay for complete parts kits!). Not bad considering I've never seen the innards of an AR first hand.

Field stripping takes no time.

Yep, we'd all be sad if the grass died due to an ND. wink

Got to shoot it for the first time today. Ah, I'm in love all over again.

nice build. I'd love to build an AR. Maybe one day, so long as there isnt another ban.

I'm on the same track. Buy while you can... while we still have rights.

ROTF!!! lol lol

I meant it's nice to see that someone knows how to handle a weapon, even if it's not going to be in use. ;-)

Ok, more pics with one of my new Pmags.

M4 Action
Tilted Side-View

The sights below are standard aperture and the close range 0-2 aperture. The small one is the overhead shot since the hole is really too small to catch a 'POV' shot. The 0-2 turned out pretty well though.
