Well it's not a GP but... - 03/25/08 09:45 AM

So a while back I was in the market for getting a GP. I was looking everywere for them and found a few I wanted to get. Then I noticed a Cadillac dealership I was at had a 2001 Eldorado ESC. I took a look at it, and it was in mint condition. Only 65,000 miles, seats looked as if they had never been touched, exterior had a few rock chips (but what car with 65,000 miles doesn't) and they said they would put a warranty on it.

Needless to say my father and I talked the guys down from $15,000 to $11,000 drive out. $11,000 is an insanely good price for one of these cars in this condition so I couldn't turn it down. The warranty from GM which covers everything from Electronics to the engine and Tranny was an extra $2000 dollars and that covers the car for an extra 30,000 miles. Everything about this car is amazingly clean.

So now I'm driving my eldorado... It's a really awsome car, but I do sometimes wish I had a s/c like the GP's devilsmile I'll see if I can get any pictures of it up here.

If its the N* thats pretty sweet, 11 grand is not bad either, but 2 grand for 30,000 mile warranty, seems a little high to me

I went to buy a new car with a friend. Talked to the guy about warranties. In certain states, maybe all, a dealership cannot charge different prices on warranties. This is because they cannot charge one person $1 for a 30,000 mile warranty and another person $1900. You may want to check that out. Warranties have set prices.

The warranty is somewhat right, my brother bout a 30,000 mile warranty for 2,000 from carmax on his lincoln towncar.

Those cars are nice, alot of those are around here. I don't think they had too many problems.

Congrats

The warrenty is a good idea the N* is a good motor but is not without problems ,My wife has an STS and loves it but I hate working on it, a difficult motor to work on even to check the trans. fluid level you have to remove the stock airbox to get to the dipstick and to change an alternator is a 4hr. job also the filure rate is quite high for the complete engine over 100k good luck Chico(pops)

One of my best friends has a 1997 STS and its over 100,000 miles and he had so many problems with it that he said he is never going to get another luxury car and said he goind to get a new grand prix because his wife has a 06-07.

Right now the sts is just sitting because it needs a ac compressor and one of the shocks broke for some reason, and lights keep going out on the headlights.

The price was from GM themselfs I saw their list because I myself thought it was pretty high. Either way its a great car and has no problems... (knock on wood)

I'll get some pics up in a little while. If you have seen one you've seen them all :p Its silver with a silver interior. I've been driving it and already have over 1k miles on it haha. Hope to bring this baby to the 200k mark if it lasts.

I've been getting plenty of props from all kinda of people (mainly older fellows) but the other day a 2008 Escalade dropped with 24" rims all blacked out stopped next to me at a light rolled down his window and said I had a great car along with giving me the thumbs up. Just today I was driving an a guy driving a new lexus IS got up next to me on the highway and gave me the thumbs up. So I basicly love the car haha. I'll get those pics up asap

Nice color, I didn't know they had those rims. But personally, you should get the new DTS stock rims with some white wall, and vogues which will set the car off real nice.
