Bullrun - 02/20/10 01:50 AM

The new season started today. I DVR'd it and I'm watching it now. I'm notsure who to root for yet, cuz out of the 12 teams, 6 of them are American muscle.

http://www.speedtv.com/programs/bullrun/meet-the-teams/

I will say, though, that while I'm not much of a Mopar fan, that Hemi Cuda is one gorgeous car... *drool*

*EDIT* OK, Team Challenger is from Houston, TX, so that's who I have to root for. lol

*EDIT 2* The Challenger is the one in the Black Magic commercials, so unless they got smart and will mix it up, which is unlikely, then they are probably the winner. Darn, I wish they wouldn't spoil it like that...

Any update if Chico is gonna be on there?

I never even thought of that with the Black Magic commercial..I really hope that's not the case. But my opening bets were the 'Cuda and the Challenger.

That's what they did last season.

And no, Chico's not on it. Too bad, that would be awesome.

I can't wait till the Lambo guys get knocked out. Not only do they play really really dirty, but then they aren't even man enough to own up to it.

I knew they were going to do that. I was looking for the commercial when I was watching it.
That really does blow that they telegraph the winner like that.

You know, it's always possible that someone realized that and that commercial is there to throw guys like you off....

Not incredibly likely, but possible nonetheless

Agreed, but it is highly unlikely. What they SHOULD do, is since you got to compete, you get to star in a commercial too. Change the car staring in each episode. Then we would never know, and everyone could say they stared in a commercial.

Re: Bullrun - 02/22/10 12:28 PM

they should do a team car thing like each team has 2 cars! Chico and me FTW
or any 2 GP's that would be amazing!

That would be cool, as long as your car doesn't break down within the 4000 mile journey.
crazy

Re: Bullrun - 02/23/10 05:00 PM

rebuild the car every 4k? eff that, dude! instead of an oil change, you'd spend every third month or so overhauling. Upside, by the end of the first year, youd be able to do an engine swap blindfolded, drunk, and upside down!

Re: Bullrun - 02/24/10 02:03 PM

Ya those shows look for people who they know aren't going to be great at the competition.
They don't want someone running the table on the competition, on any show.

Re: Bullrun - 02/24/10 11:37 PM

im always down for to be a co pilot! plus if something were to happen you would have 2 people who have done a lot of engine work/pulled engines out multiple times smile

Team challenger eliminated!! Nice! Now we can watch the show and not think we know who won it haha.

Yeah, I was like... "WTF... They gave out a Mediocre award. They got me."
Good job to the staff for mixing it up a bit.

Re: Bullrun - 04/11/10 01:47 PM

I still need to finish watching that episode, but if Challenger is out, I want the Cuda to win. I was hoping Challenger was the winner cuz they were from Houston, but man, the guy in that Hemi Cuda can DRIVE! He out drove the stunt driver on that oval dirt track.

Re: Bullrun - 04/11/10 02:17 PM

Yeah I'm guessing they used Challenger for the commercial because they got first a couple times and won the details. And yeah I've been rooting for Team Cuda to win since the beginning. By far my favorite car/team.

Re: Bullrun - 04/11/10 04:00 PM

I was flipping channels while on the treadmill at the gym just in time to see team Lexus SPANK team lambo on the highway in a WOT run. Looks like the Lexus has a V-6 motor swap with a HUGE turbo according to the website.

I'm all for team Cuda as I can see me and my daughter doing that someday.

Yeah I think it said it's a twin turbo, but that girl that's a 'professional driver' drives pretty awful, especially in the challenges. I was glad to see them go home. Goldberg hated them too haha.

Re: Bullrun - 04/11/10 11:10 PM

Agreed. I don't have a problem with them simply because they are women, but god, I hated those girls! lol I think at one point it was said she never won anything anyway.

Re: Bullrun - 04/30/10 12:55 AM

Not to bring an old topic back to life...but here I go. lol

Team Lexus was annoying, and the main driver was a joke. But I found out that the Lexus they were driving wasn't owned by either one. Very odd. I wouldn't trust anyone to drive my car like they did, even if I was in the car.

I was quite disappointed in the ending. I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it.

Re: Bullrun - 05/01/10 01:36 AM

I was disappointed too. Extremely. And I still find it hard to believe Lambo won that last challenge. There were things in the second season that made me wonder if this show is rigged to be honest.

Re: Bullrun - 05/02/10 08:53 PM

I can easily see how this show could be scripted. During one of those "behind the scenes" episodes, you could see all the Bill Goldberg parts being taped, one take after another, until they were done correctly. And I also found it peculiar how not one of the challenges showed the time clock throughout the entire challenge. They could say that any of the three in challenge were the fastest without showing proof.

I still enjoyed some of the show. The blatant product placement was beyond annoying though.

All that being said...I'll watch the next season too. I have my DVR set to record. Otherwise I'm sure I would never catch it again. lol

Re: Bullrun - 05/03/10 11:53 PM

I've noticed the same thing about the challenges. I think they did that last season. The Avalanche made good TV, so they gave them the win when they were clearly slower than the others a couple times.

That's my opinion, anyway. I'm wondering if it happened with the Lambo too, cuz they didn't appear to be quite as fast as either the Cuda or the NSX, but it wasn't nearly as blatant as with the Avalanche.
