Mod question -- Not for my gp - 10/22/06 01:40 AM

Okay, i was thinking of looking at this 2002 GMC Sonoma, its a awesome truck, cept there asking for $15000 for it, its automatic, but no power windows or power locks. So my question is, is it hard/impossible to get a lock motor or something and add it if i do end up getting it?

Nice looking truck. I love how they say $138 biweekly cuz they dont want to scare off people by saying $276 a month. 84,000km's, thats like having 65,000 miles on it? $15,000 seems a bit high, but then it is a dealer so they run higher than private sellers.

Seems like you could get motorized locking installed in it, but it'd take some work. You'd have to run the wires and install the motors. If you wanted to put switches on the doors you might have to do some panle modification depending on the type of switch you get. If it were me, I'd just live with the manual locks and windows, but its a matter of preference.

If you want a truck with electric locks keep looking. It's not worth the hassle.

I would never pay anywhere near that amount for an auto with no power windows/locks.

Nice truck. I had a '01 S-10 with that same sport package on it as the silver truck. It was very nice, and I lowered it another 2" all around. Anyway, if you get an S-10/Sonoma, make sure you get the 4.3L v-6. That is a great engine, and you can do plenty to them if you get the mod bug...( after all, the 4.3 is the 5.7 - 2 cyl.)

There are loads of engine parts out there to build up that engine, and they are very much indestructable, much like the 3.8L.

Have fun looking....

Friend of mine has the 4.3 in his Chevy 1500, very nice engine. Feels like it's got a pretty decent amount of pulling power, too bad he doesn't have a hitch

Now compare that to the 5.7L smile
