I going to be selling my car for parts and whatever I can get. I am going to be stepping into an 80s or 70s Monte Carlo. Theres a lot more potential with them in my opinion anyway. Have fun all peace.

lol nah, ill be selling the car as a whole or at least trying too. Also I didnt mean to say so along as in I wont ever post. I just feel like moving away from front wheel drives, and fuel injection all together. I want a louder car so that means everything in a Monte. I like them because they are 2 door, light cars same weight or around the same at least in the 80s they were, sporty yet luxury car. The newer ones ahahha NO. lol But ill still post it up in here from time to time. So I am not gone. I am getting 800 dollars in a few weeks from school, hopefully getting around 1000-1500 from my POS. If I part it I think ill get that no problem. So im really just lookin for a Monte to fix up while in school. I have found quite a few down south from Michigan but not too much in Michigan.

School and one car (a project car at that) just doesn't mix. My advice: get a driver and either mod the GP (engine swap, etc) or get the Monte as a second vehicle.

I'm in the same spot and there is no way in heck I'm going to do major work on my Stratus while my GP isn't deemed 100% yet.

ahhh Rook, your one of the guys who has helped me out plenty of times on this site. The thing with the GTP man, its got more wrong with it then it has right. The air bags went off a year ago, the cv joint is gonna go very soon, the engine is smoked, its got 281K on a slipping tranny, the trunk has got very rusty strut towers. Its just not worth it to fix. I finally came to my senses a few days ago. I love the car and style and will own one again someday. I just think I want to move onto a car ive loved since I started driving. Not only do they look like a Regal but they are also pretty sporty. We all know that carb engines are easier to work on then new cars. Plus they are RW not Front wheel. I have no plans at all to stop posting on this site though hence the first post kinda hinted on. Honestly in your opinion guys what would you put on the tag price out side my house. Like 1500 obo or even lower. I mean I know I could sell the mirrors,tailights,headlights,DIC,possibly even engine and tranny as a rebuild,and other little things and scrap the car and make prolly around 800 bucks. SO give me your ideas to make the most out of the car.
Speaking of project car though too! I dont mean total project car, just a fixer upper. Maybe some dents in the car, bad alternator, paint job, new gas tank, even a new engine to throw in. I have already found some for the 2000 price range. It will be road worthy at least I will not settle for less then that. lol so a project car in some ways but not totally. I better be able to at least drive it to work and school or I wont buy it.

So with all the problems what do you guys think might be a suitable price on the car. Would 1700 be too high. There are a lot of parts that could be used. I mean hoods, fenders, seats, DIC, mirros,engine rebuild,tranny rebuild,various switches,and other stuff. Let me know what a good asking price might be?

Well im glad people are debating with me. THing is 500 I can sell the hood for close to 100, get 40 for the rear mirror, at least 100 for the rims and tires, bout a 100 for the taillights, 100 for the headlights, prolly 60 for my radiator its brand new. That there is 500. There are still many other parts as well. The engine, seats, and etc. So I think myself I could higher then that. How would 1000 sound.

Man, 99% chance your going to be selling to someone who wants a car... not something to part out. You can't get more than $500 from a car with a blown engine, among other issues.

If you want get the price from parting it, part it yourself.

What Rook said... I personally am not going to be buying a car to part out and if I was, I wouldn't spend a lot on it in the first place.

Also, it has always been my experience that things are worth more in pieces than they are as a whole.

Yeah I guess I could prolly get more money selling it like that. Well I think what I will do is throw it up on the road with like a 1500 price tag pray someone buys it lol. Now with Ebay how does that work. How would ya ship it to someone. I could list it as a parts car and hope to get lucky too? At the same time, now im sure people here will go crazy I can prolly just start selling parts off it. Ill have to take some pictures of various things if people become interested in them. My car is a whole so I have everything, just remember its a 97 so there are certain things it wont have. So let me know I guess if people are interested in various parts while i try to to sell the whole car as well?
