At what mileage have you been putting on new brakes on the rear. I have 61k miles on my 2002 Grand Prix, I think the fronts were already changed. Whats the normal life of rear brakes?

I'd say they are due for a change. Safety first. Depends on how hard those 61k miles were. If you take off caliper you can inspect the pads.

In my experience, normally you change rears every other time you do rears.

Go with the 12" upgrade all the way around. Zzp shows an upgrade for 12" rears now

If you are going for 12" rear rotor. I remember that grand prix spare tire won't fit. I believe torque star wheel only can be fit but close enough.
About spare tire if you are going for 12" around 4 wheels. You will need Bonneville spare tire that will fit 12" rotor if you got any flat tire in future.

Do they start squeaking at some point, as a warning?
