Changing a fuel filter. Tim didn't post, 01'GT, but he was getting 7* kr. Asked him about his fuel filter, says hasn't been changed in some time. He pulled it and said was milk chocolat like. Thought I post this just to let you all know there are more things than just a tune or mods that go into play with this car performing better.
Flip that sway now Tim.

it's not particularly dangerous until you're boosted.

aside from when my car was trying to burn oil, last night I was running 0* KR. When burning oil, I ran 8* KR.

ok, so the thing that confuses me is that i only get the KR when i stomp on it, NOT when i ease into it. Even at the higher RPM's im not getting the KR. I also get the KR, when im in like 3rd gear on the freeway and when its in LOW rpms and i try to give it a good amount of gas.

What about poly mounts, ZZP says they reduce false KR. I said the same thing to andrew when he was knocking, its worth a shot, good mod for the money too

Ive never heard about "dangerous" knock with anyone in a GT Don't act like we're friends. So because it isn't "dangerous", he shouldn't worry about his fuel filter? Knock reduces horsepower.

The topic was fuel filters and KR. Not Tim's tune, injectors, fpr, etc. Could be a lot of things. Check pressure at the rail when you run out of fuel.

So, did we notice any change in fuel trims after the filter change? Just curious.

Fuel pressure regulator, sway bar, acceleration tuning table. I know it doesn't look close to sway bar but there is reason y everyone with downpipe or headers flips it. U say right when stomp on it well that is when the motor jolts the most therefore moving enough to hit the sway bar.

Fixed it once with the fuel filter was good to go now you get it when you nail the throttle? I'd look at the tuning maybe the tune is off. I'm not up on tunning and what not but you could be too lean initially. If the tune is fine then I'd look at false KR. If you have an aftermarket DP is the sway bar flipped? How about motor and tranny mounts worn? Any metal on metal contact can be picked up by the knock sensors and interpret it as knock.

I was having a hard start too replaced the filter same, changed gas stations it worked fine went back to the org station back to the same boat... might be the gas your using. Can a car not take well to ethanol? I think that might be the issue, since it ran fine with gas that had no ethanol.
