do NOT lower your tire pressure with street tires.

People are right, they bubble up in the middle, causing you to LOSE surface area.

I'll try and snap a pic of the t/s one sec...

I did better with full gas-ed up tire than I did all last season with 22lbs in the front ones.

Also, they re-did the track this winter, and it was sticky as HECK!

Hooked up like I've never felt before.

My best 60' was 2.17.

I'd say if I improve my launch (read: launched harder) I'd start scoring high 13s consistantly.

But every time I launch it hard like a rocket, something bad happens.

Last season it was either knock or breaking the tires loose.

This season, it's breaking the tires looks, or blowing my freaking exhaust off!

BTW, I forgot to tell you all. One run I launched it real hard, like, I KNEW I would have gotten sub-13 times.

Got to the top-end of 2nd at about 80 something, all of a sudden,

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

LOUD LOUD LOUD grinding (so I thought) noise. Thought I fragged the tranny.

Let off the gas, realized it was the exhaust.

Was SO loud, and sounded like it was coming from the motor. I immediately assumed I blew up on of the paper gaskets between one of the headers and the heads.

Pulled it over, medic asked if I was alright, told her yeah.

Went looking around, didn't SEE anything broken.

Got under the car...

Y'know how the Cat'd Pacesetters have the cat kind of seperate from the headers and dp? how there is that 3" pipe there that you overlap and clamp?

Yeah, I blew my cat-back right off. Gave me the worst sort of headache. Most agonizing 1/4 mile trek ever.

So now I know; every time I go to the track, the muffler comes off, otherwise, I start losing pipes >.<

Hah. I know I've got exhaust leaks with my mangled exhaust right now (held on by a lot of clamps) and I've been wondering when it will throw something when I got WOT.

I also feel you with the traction thing. I was goofing around with a friend and his '95 Chevy truck the other night and was trying to play catch-up. I tried going WOT about three or four times. Every time when the transmission downshifted I'd jerk to the right and loose traction so bad I'd have to let off.

Chico, mind doing some traction bar services? Heh.

35 and under are the No-Zone for WOT now.

Back when I was n/a with a PCM, that was a funy little play to do a 3->1 downshift and throw friends into the seat.

Now when I do it, not only does it throw people into their seats, but I'm doing 50 in half a second. Oh, and she squaks the tires too.

All the high-school kids around here drive rice burners, so when my little bro tells them his older brother can light em up at 35mph, I get a lot of attention from them.

BTW, has anybody experimented with using a 2-step launch control system on our cars? I know it's kind of a ricer thing to do but I think it'd be a fun little toy to play around with...

EDIT: I don't mean FUNCTIONALLY using 2-step launch control, we have no need of it. I just mean having a bump limiter for making some noise...

maybe thats y i couldnt break into 14's i had street tires down to 25 psi.....and i dont think there is a 2-step for our cars that would just be weird....if you wanna make noise rev that m90 with an open cone haha......and for street tires what should i have the front psi at then?

I think stock pressure on the fronts is 32 psi cold.

I suppose the car kind of has a bump limiter already, right at 3500, but that's a little high.

And I don't think there is a way to chnag that to a lower rpm in the PT either.
