I brought my car in because of a check engine light turns out i developed a floating valve yes a year after i got the engine rebuilt!....of course the waranty is only 6 months n now i have to pay ne were from 1500-1800 to get it fixed........dont u guys think its rediculous that i have to pay i mean its a brand new engine and they claim its because of high rpm's its a autimatic for god sakes how do you not build it strong enough for it to last more then a year.....im pissed as u can guess what are your thoughts!!?

if the valve is floating then why dont you take off the valve covers and then change the springs ??

what did they do to diagnose that the valve was floating?

If they are taking the heads off, then that doesnt seem too high

take it somewhere else to get it figured out ... for misfires you should check all your plugs if there is fouling on them, also how old are your wires? and are the misfires on one specific cyl or are there diffrent ones ??

how is the coil pack? also injector. and if it is a valve float i think it would be the springs

Valve float won't be noticed on a compression check. Now a bent valve will.

If it was a coil back the other cylinder would have issues as well.

Stock springs should be able to handle a load upto 6k. It is possible to have a broken spring. But even then only the rocker cover needs to come off not the head. If the valve is bent then yes the head needs to come off and then the 1500-1800 sounds about right.

its a bent valve in the front so only the front head came off not that bad prob gunna get n msd coil pack too still should only be about 1000 i hope

Since no warrentee at this point it would be cheaper to pull the head yourself and send it to a machine shop to clean up the valve seat and you can do the rest yourself. Machine work, valve, push rod, spring, valve seal gaskets etc will run approx $500 I'm guessing on the high side to DIY. Biggest cost will be the machine work.
