I was gonna move the coolant recovery tank to the passenger's strut tower last weekend, but it was cold, windy, and rainy, so I just GAF'd it off and watched football and NASCAR. Maybe this weekend........

Looking at some of these homeade intakes reminds me why I forked out $250 for an intake, one of the mistakes a lot of you guys make is useing to small of pipe(3"OD) and try to avoid 90deg bends also for the ones useing stock intake bellows with a pipe stuck in it uh-uh,a good homeade intake would be a 3 1/12" to 4" coupler the 4" pipe to a 9X4 K&N and you do'nt need to enclose the filter but a heat shield would help.Chico(pops)

You know, the K&N may be a lot more expensive than a custom intake, but if you ask me, it LOOKS so much better...

OK the K&N may be overpriced but lets break it down, first a silicone coupler instead of a rubber sewer coupler next a polymer intake tube that resists heat soak instead of a pcv sewer pipe ,a huge K&N oval filter then a heat shield that looks like it belongs in the car,now if money is tight build your own and do'nt look back as I do'nt think there is any huge difference in intakes as long as the filter is big enough and the intake tube does'nt have to sharp of bends.Chico(pops)
