My 02 GTP gets 16 in town and 24 on the road. Not as high as I had hoped.

That makes me feel really good, actually. I thought my car was unusually low, or the sensor was way off.
Thats pretty sh*tty, but eh, I love the car too much to care.

I average about 16-17 around town, less if I put my foot into it (I love my PCM!). Around 28 on the highway.

I get around 17-18 in the city and about 27 on the highway. The little information center says my average is 26 mpg, but I don't really trust that all the way.

what could be a problem for getting low gas mileage. i did a tune up around 100k with everything except for coil packs, and car is stock. our gtp is only getting around 21 on the highway i think. the gas mileage has gone to s#!t when it used to get around 30 highway and some high number around 18-21 city i guess.
possible things i think it might be, but need imput. coil packs, transmission
i know the tranny isn't has good as it used to be, but still seems alright.
i was reading where somebody changed coil packs and it was like night and day.

Usually it isnt coil packs. They are just not a reason to go out often. i honestly have never heard of anyone having a problem either on here or anywhere else with them to have to replace them. Could be o2 sensor at fault or something. You gotta scan tool you can check those sensors. do you allot?

I had the coil packs go out on my Aurora (which I believe are the same as my GTP) at about 100K so yes they will fail from time to time, now on the MPG problem, I would not assume is something like the coil packs, or something as serious as a bad tranny, I would rather start with emmision controls, sensors and EGR valves get clogged, and sometimes they give the PCM a poor signal which gets reflected on your gas needle, so get the car scanned ad look for proper fuel/air mixture, fuel pressure and EGR operation just for starters.

Are you using oxygenated gas? When I did that with my GTP, my fuel economy went down the toilet. My trip computer says 21.7, and that's mixed city highway driving. But I haven't reset it in about a year. If I reset it while driving on the highway, it usually settles between 24 and 27. (I drive spiritidly) But anyways, when I run oxygenated gas, (I don't anymore), the trip computer says like 19.x miles.
