bang when pressing the accelerator

Hi
2001 Grand Prix GT. Everything is fine, except when I am going at speed higher than 50 mph and I let go of the accelerator long enough for the RPM's to settle down between 1000 and 2000 , then I press the gas a little hard, I feel a small bang on my foot. I know it's not from the transmission downshifting, b/c I don't press the gas hard enough for it to downshift.

Does everyone else have this same problem? Is it just the engine torquing up with the transmission again?

any input would be appreciated.

Every car will shudder a little as you do that. But a bang = not normal.

check your engine+tranny mounts & make sure that they are ok.
