What I can't figure out is what most of the damage was contained to the brake booster/master cylinder area.

Brake fluid isn't flammable. And there isn't any fuel source around there...

NEVERMIND!

I just found out why most of the damage was around that area...

That's where the fuel ines RAN! The ran from the rails, back to the firewall, then along that area to the fender.

That explains why that area was the most damaged.

Now I just need a explanation for how/why it started in the first place.

The other char mark in the hood is just about where the furthest left fuel line was. Right about the #3 plug.

Fuel must have started leaking there or at least ignited there.

How cold does it have to be for gasoline to freeze?

Oh and sorry, but there are no hopes of parting this car out. If the car can't be fixed, I'm going to go find another GP (hopefully a GT body) and swap my motor and tranny into it. Not letting my $7000 motor go to waste because my $3000 car caught fire...

Your patch job is why it failed. It just took awhile before did it.

While I'm not trying to say this fire isn't my fault, I just don't think it was a COMPLETELY avoidable accident.
And I also think this could've been prevented in the first place.

Lol.

Gasoline freezes at a temperature you'll never see. That was definitely not your problem, so don't even consider it.

Your GTP conversion stopped at the fuel rail; those black nylon lines are not repairable with any type of hose. Period. You just needed to use the right fuel lines & fittings, that's all. hammer

I have it sitting in a bin.

Any companies sell stainless braided fuel lines for our cars? >.<

I'm getting worried because I think my "donor" car is an N/A motor, which means I won't get the right tubes and hoses.

I need all new vac lines as well as the brake booster line. On top of that, I need new plastic parts for the blower because all those parts are garbage now.

I'm REALLY not looking forawrd to running all those vac lines. At least last time I had all the lines from Ed for the most part. This time I'll be starting from scratch.

I reallly REALLY hope my donor is a GTP frown

I would get a complete engine harness while you're at it. No sense in repairing yours.

Dude the GT motor's 90* fittings work great, that's all I've ever used since I did my top swap and no problems yet.

damage is much less than what I anticipated. I think you got DAMN lucky. I honestly think you can fix that and be back up and running in less than no time at all.
