I have a 2000 GP/GT V6 (3800 Series II) and when I started it yesterday morning the Trip information panel and the air were both out. No read out on either and no air at all. I went on to work and after work they were both operational until the next morning (today). Now they're both out completely. I've checked the DIC/HVAC fuse on the inside and the Trip Computer/HVAC Module fuse under the hood. Both are good. Any ideas?

Thanks!!!!

Ignition switch, perhaps.

Thanks Rook. I have had the ignition key guts replaced when the key wouldn't come out. I now push the button under the steering column to get the key out since it costs a small fortune to replace the parts down to the gear shift. I've also read tonight about a possible problem with the positive battery cable corrosion which I've had in the past. Thanks again.

When I had positive battery cable issues, my car wouldn't start and the gauge cluster would go nuts. However, devices working on an off inside the car, is a sign of ignition switch issues due to carbon scoring.

You're absolutely correct on the ignition switch. I just 'messed' around with wires/connectors in the steering column and got the gauges/air to come on....until I turned the car off and back on. Guess I'll be replacing the ignition switch.

I vote also for ignition switch, here's a great write up that I used when I did mine a couple months back.

Note you will need either the two special tool he mentions in the write up, or an E4 1/4" drive socket. Not too bad of a job really. Took me about 3 hours taking my time.

Thanks drummerboy! Looks like several folks have used that information. I guess I'm next.
