goes the head gasket. Rather than laying out the money for all the gaskets and machine work for me to fix it, I've been in talks with Ed. Hopefully an L67 swap will be forthcoming, but he is out of GTP dropouts atm and I'm on a waiting list.
I was going to wait until I had the engine to announce it, but it looks like it will be a while. In the meantime, the GP is parked.

Bummer man. That's no good, hopefully many GTP's will bless Mr. Morad's junkyard and you will be up and running soon!

I hope many GTP's don't bless the junkyard. That means this forum may get attacked!

I didn't think your car had that many miles on it, what happened? Over heat?

107k. Remember the small leak? It slowly became a larger leak and is clearly coming from the driver side of the front head.

That really blows! Good luck. Maybe you can come out this way and do mine while I go out

If I had more time on my hands, I'd be more than willing to help you with the brakes. They don't take long, especially if you have a garage (I don't ) and an impact wrench (I do ). Never done a hub assembly, so I wouldn't know what I would be getting into when it's someone else's car. Currently on my list of things to buy is an engine hoist. I'll need one if I go through with this.

I was leaning more towards you switching out my engine

I don't even know how I am going to fair with that. Might turn into a huge fiasco for all I know at the moment.

Well, while Ed is out of engines/trannies, I'm trying to find out how much I can get a turbo setup off of a TGP. I might go that route with a rebuild and buy a HD tranny conversion off Ed. We'll see what the cost is.
If anyone runs across a junkyard with a TGP, I'm needing the front/rear exhaust manifolds, crossover, and turbo. Let me know.

A turbo would be sweet! And, it would be off the chain.

Hah, I missed a call from Ed. Said he got two cars in and might be able to hook me up. I'll have to give him a call tomorrow and see what's up.

Called Ed, a dropout from a '99 GTP w/ 103k miles is mine, pending funds (got to wait for the loan).

Any ideas on what I should replace when it gets here? Fuel injector o-rings and the S/C coupler are on the top of my list. What else? I haven't paid much attention to L67 maintenance, perhaps I should have.
