The plastic things are valve seals and yes replace them,it would be a good idea to have the heads checked by a machine shop ,have them check to see that the sticking valves are not bent and have them check head surface and check for cracks, how high of mileage on these heads?Chico(pops)

the guy said one had 10k and one had 20k on one of the valves, it looked like there was a little detionation. ok so i will have to buy new valve seals, i found them on WBS for like 18 buck, what would be an ave price to expect to have the heads looked at and checked why the valves are sticking and crack checked so i know what im getting into before i bring them in

Edit:

i looked inbetween the valves for cracks but i saw nothing but i guess the machine shop will have to check as well

OK a machine shop should charge around $40 to check out the heads also have them check the valve guides if a valve is bent expect to have a damaged valve guide ,buying used heads is a hit and miss proposition ,for instance if the heads were removed from a warm engine they will be warped, are you planning on doing your top swap soon?

are you going to be going with a cam or anything?

I reccomend doing valve seals and 105's if you are.

OK cracks between the valve seats are common but actually you can run them like that ,to check suface trueness use a straight edge corner to corner ,and as far as the valve hanging up remove that valve and swap for another an see if it does the same thing,is there any signs on the valve surface that it may have hit a piston ? and to check to see if the valve is seating properly turn the head spring side down and fill the combustion chamber with oil and see if it leaks down.

ok report on the valves, i tryed what you said chico, i pulled one of the stuck valves and one of the free ones tryed to swap them and it still sticks so that means its in the head, one of the other valves is so tight i cant even get it out, i know im gonna have to take this head to the shop frown
