I have a 97 grand prix gt and the radio is working fine except one thing... The clock is VERY dim and i have no clue, im pretty young so i have no money to spare to get it checked so any of you have a clue why its like this?

Sorry if this is a stupid question haha..

dimmer knob turned down? Other than that, you're pretty much looking at getting a new head unit or living with the dim screen.

what do you mean by dimmer knob? Sorry im kinda dumb when it comes to cars, i know there a dimmer knob for my like spedometer and stuff but thats always on and the clock is still very dim.. i might have to replace it i guess?

Yeah, I was referring to the dimmer wheel that adjusts the gauges and all the other lights. Check out ebay, you might be able to find a cheap stock head unit there.

i got an old one from my 98 last time i used it it worked fine been in my closet for about a year or so

ill have to check when i get home... cause im bout to change my 97 but that has a tape with 12 disk ...

so if you can wait ill sell you that one if you want...

yea ill check it out i get off work around 11 so it takes me about a 30 min or so to get home so expect a post around 12 or so...

ok kwood i just checked it and its the same as




it was serviced in 12/04 right before i got the car in 01/05 and i think i only until the summer or so when i got my sony

if you want it ill give it to you for lets say 35 even...

Yeah, probably the bulb is burned out. I replaced mine, probably with a little bravado you could tear the unit apart and replace the bad bulb... but its easier to just replace the whole thing! wink
