My 2001 Grand Prix Special Edition has always had a musty smell from the air vents, especially upon start-up. The dealer said they spray a deodorizer to mask the smell.
Does anyone know how to eliminate the problem?

Check the A/C drain elbow on the firewall behind the power steering...if it's plugged or stuck shut, water collects in the blower motor housing, causing mold and musty odors....Febreeze mod... lol

Thanks... I have blown air through the drain tube from the firewall side & sprayed the GM disinfectant / deodorizer per instructions. Is there only the one drain tube?
The car is always garaged & the problem has been there since new. I don't think it is debris, just residual water in the evaporator box. Dave

Theres gotta be a cheaper way to take care of it...that Evaporator system cleaner is quite expensive.
