I bought an '02 GTP a couple months ago which was installed with an after-market CD player. Why the last owner replaced the factory deck for that piece of junk, I'll never know. I have another better cd player and was wondering if the HUD and steering wheel controls can be hooked up to it or do they only work for the factory deck.

i have almost the same situation...02 40th anniv...i have a sirius sattelite system to install...replacing factory bose...local shop did the research and said i need some interfaces and stuff to retain the steering and hud and onstar...runs about 200 for the parts...the stereo you are installing has to have remote capablility for the steering interface to work...good luck

i swapped out my deck on mu 02gtp and yea just like that i lost my steering controls and onstar(i wanted a deck the glowed red like the rest of my car interior). the hud works fine though.

Steering wheel controls can be saved if you buy a Sony deck. HUD is lost until you go back to factory.
